Last year company launched the Micromax Viva A72 in their budget category, which was basically an affordable phablet with a 5-inch display. Design wise, Micromax Viva A72 has 5.0 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display with 480 x 800 pixels resolution and very low 187 ppi pixel density. Front panel also include three capacitive touch buttons below the display for Home, Menu and Back. On/off power or lock screen button placed right side of the handset while the volume rocker sits on the left side. The thickness of the smartphone is 10.6 and the weight is 186 gram so phone is difficult to hold because of high thikness and weight.

Micromax Viva A72 comes with Mediatek MT6515 chipset and powered by 1 GHz Cortex-A9 processor and PowerVR SGX531 GPU for HD gaming along with 512 MB RAM and just 110 MB internal storage bit nowadays 4GB internal storage is become a standard storage that could be expanded upto 32 GB via microSD card slot. We think the phone become better if the company offers Dual core processor for this handset. The phone runs on Android v2.3 Gingerbread OS but the ICS version is the better option in this price range.

The display, processor, camera and Android version of the phone is not impressive, If you can compromise these drawbacks, go for it. Otherwise the Spice Stellar Glide Mi-438 is a better choice in terms of CPU performance and android version at lower price range and Lava Iris 406Q is better alternative at a little much high price.
