Well known Chinese manufacturer Oppo launched its new android smartphone Oppo R1S with a codename R8007. This smartphone is the upgraded version of Oppo R1 which was unveiled December 2013. The upgrade features are the clock speed of the CPU, Chipset upgrade Mediatek to Snapdragon, camera also upgraded and support 4G LTE connectivity instead of 3G. Refreshing the specs, Oppo R1S comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8928) chipset which is powered by 1.6 GHz Quad-core Cortex-A7 processor and Adreno 305 graphics along with 2 GB RAM. The device runs on Oppo’s home made custom Color ROM that is built on Android 4.3 jelly bean. You can can play HD games and HD videos smoothly in this handset and there is no lag in Multitasking access.

Oppo R1S sports 5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 1280 x 720 HD pixels resolution and 294 ppi pixel density. The display is boosted with Multitouch but no word yet about display protection. The touch of the phone is good and responsive. Unfortunately the external storage slot is missing in Oppo R1S but can be purchased with 16 GB of inbuilt storage.

In terms of Camera optics, Oppo R1S has 13 MP rear camera, up from 8MP with autofocus, dual-LED flash for better photography in low light. The other camera features includes Geo-tagging, face detection, panorama, touch focus, HDR and ability to record 1080p@30fps video. Also added 5 MP front camera for face to face chat with your loved one.

The connectivity features ofOppo R1S includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, microUSB v2.0, 3.5mm audio jack, GPRS/EDGE, A-GPS. The phone supports Dual SIM (TD-SCDMA and GSM) with 2G (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) and 3G (HSDPA 850/900/1700/1900/2100) and 4G LTE networks. The Oppo R1S is well packed with 2410 mAh battery which gives a better stand by time and talk time.

The phone is certified by Tenaa (the Chinese wireless authority). The price and launch date of Oppo R1S is not announced yet but we expect the handset will go official in coming week.
